Ernie Ball Music Man BFR James Valentine Signature Review
The Ernie Ball Music Man James Valentine Signature is impressively dynamic, with a great vintage vibe.
James Valentine, lead guitarist of Maroon 5 teamed up with Ernie Ball Music Man to create what we think is one exceptional instrument. The Music Man James Valentine signature model is constructed from an ash and roasted which offers players a wealth of attack and snap. The guitar is impressively dynamic, thanks to features like gain boost, coil splitting, and the neck-heel-located truss rod adjustment. Ernie Ball Music Man James Valentine Signature Feel
The 25.5-inch scale, oil and wax rubbed roasted maple neck, and 10-inch radius maple fingerboard all culminate to bring you excellent playability, and a comfortable overall feel. Everything is stable on this guitar, which is most likely attributed to it's seemingly minimalist design and construction, creating a no-frills workhorse that is equally suited for the gig or studio session.
Why We Like It
The Ernie Ball Music Man James Valentine Signature has everything the modern player needs, and it presents it in a fashion that makes playing easy and unintimidating. We are especially fond of the guitar's fairly thin body shape, which is certainly a plus for those long gigs. Additionally, the guitar simply feels rock-solid and stays in tune incredibly well, due in part to the brilliant design of the Ernie Ball Hardtail bridge and Schaller M6-IND locking tuners.
