Up Close Photos and Video of the EVH '79 Bumblebee Tribute Relic At The Music Zoo!
An exact replica of the guitar that Eddie Van Halen wielded on the cover of 1979's Van Halen II record.
'Bumblebee' as it affectionately was nicknamed by fans was played heavily throughout the 1979 World Tour. 40 years later, the EVH brand has meticulously recreated the instrument from its original ash Stratocaster body, a bolt-on birdseye maple neck with oiled finish, a straight across 12" radius, prototype locking nut and tremolo, and a single 'Bumblebee' humbucker. All of the hardware has been relic'd to look just like the original including the custom brass string retainer, screw-eye strap hooks, period-correct Schallers and side output jack. To add to the collectibility of the series: Eddie himself has signed the back of each guitars headstock. Each guitar includes a custom Anvil hardshell case, period-correct '70s Fender Bullet strings, an exclusive booklet, a full Young Guitar Live Tour in Japan '78-79 book copy, and autographed memorabilia with certificate of authenticity. This is a must have to complete any collection of Eddie Van Halens legendary instruments.
