We’re talking about the Collector’s Choice series from Gibson Custom Shop, in which Gibson takes a great vintage guitar—often celebrity owned—and through the marvels of modern technology creates a limited run of near-exact recreations of that instrument.
For the 26th Collector’s Choice guitar, Gibson Custom is recreating Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford’s 1959 Les Paul in all of its Iced Tea/Lemonburst glory. Whitford’s relied on this wonderful guitar for much of his stage and studio playing and it’s regarded among Burst aficionados as one of the finest examples why the original 1959 Les Pauls are so mystical and legendary. Gibson Custom will be manufacturing 300 of these great guitars and the Zoo has a few of the first ones issued. You can check them out here on our site!
