Gretsch Panther 1

NAMM 2013 Watch out – this cat was built to bite . Hunting through the jungle of NAMM ’13, we found this  guitar out of the new Gretsch Center Block Series.  This new series takes the classic Gretsch hollowbody aesthetic and adds a spruce center block through the entire length of the body.  However, Gretsch didn’t just throw it in there to give the guitar some weight and get rid of feedback issues, they chambered the lower bout of the block to lower the weight, and also extended the pinned wood bridge base over the sides of the block 5/8″ on both sides, allowing the string vibration from the bridge to travel through the block and up the body – resulting in an extremely full sounding and resonant guitar.
