Jimmy Page Presents The Sundragon Amp Ahead of NAMM 2019
Jimmy Page introduces The Sundragon tube amp combo, created in collaboration with Mitch Colby and Perry Margouleff
The Sundragon! Sure to be one of the biggest announcements of NAMM 2019 - Jimmy Page has teamed up with famed amp builder Mitch Colby and producer/engineer Perry Margouleff to recreate his legendary and mysterious Supro tube amp.
The Sundragon is a painstaking recreation of Page's original Supro "Coronado", which was responsible for the classic guitar tones heard on Led Zeppelin I and many other recordings. The amp had fallen out of the back of the tour van early in it's life, and after it was restored and modified, it's tonal palette was one-of-a-kind. Tone chasers ever since have yet to really nail the sound of this amp.
Now, in honor of the 50th Anniversary of Led Zeppelin I, Page and his team are ready to lift the mysterious fog obscuring the true nature of this amp and share the mojo with the world. There will be a small batch of 50 limited edition units, hand-built by Mitch Colby and signed by Page, with a production run arriving later in the year.
We'll be keeping our ears peeled for the first demos - and don't hesitate to contact us to make one yours!
