The GPCE Inception Maple Grand Performance brings in a new era for Martin with unique tonewoods and a new bracing system!
A part of Martins mission for 2024 is the emphasis on utilizing sustainable tonewoods which will carry guitar manufacturing into the future. Within that, they have introduced the new GPCE Inception Maple, a Grand Performance 14-Fret Cutaway built with a FSC-certified European spruce top paired with a 3-piece back made of maple and black walnut. The rims of the guitar are maple and the neck as well as fretboard are carved of black walnut.
A new 'Skeletonized scalloped bracing pattern brings the best out of the maple and black walnut woods
When deciding to use woods such as black walnut, Martin didn't want to use the traditional bracing methods they've used before. They've introduced a bracing pattern which has been 'skeletonized' - it's designed to reduce mass and support the woods while being lightweight and increasing resonance.The honeycomb pattern on each piece of bracing keeps the wood sturdy but still lightweight, and as an added bonus...just looks super cool!
