NAMM 2017: Danelectro Releasing New Models!
NAMM 2017 Believe it or not, 2017 brings us up to 70 years of Danelectro as a company, and they’re still doing fantastic things in releasing new and inspiring guitars that fit any guitar or bass players budget. Stopping by their booth at the 2017 NAMM show gave us some insight into new models that will be coming out this year.
The Danelectro ’84 is their take on a classic “S” style electric guitar, complete with a two-post tremolo bridge, rosewood fretboard, and of course – Danelectro lipstick pickups to add their own spin on the design. The ’84 comes in White, Sunburst, and Black – all with rosewood boards.
Any offset lover will find something to dig about this one. The new ’66 model pairs a bound body with an F-hole, German carve top, and a single-coil neck pickup with a Lipstick humbucker in the bridge – not to mention a coil-tap switch as well. Can you pack any more features in there? We think not. The ’66 model comes in 3-Tone Sunburst, Transparent Red, Black, and Transparent Orange.
Bass players fret not, Danelectro didn’t forget about you! This is the new ’64 Bass with a lipstick humbucker in the bridge with a single-coil neck pickup, 3-way switch, and yes – a coil-tap to retain a single-coil bridge tone. Finishes on the ’64 Bass are Black Pearl, White Pearl, and 3-Tone Sunburst.
