NAMM 2017: Port City Amplification Comes To The Music Zoo
NAMM 2017 We’ve heard a ton of great things about what the folks over at Port City Amplification have been doing at their shop down in North Carolina, and were very excited to head over to their booth to check out what they had to offer.
Port City has introduced their new Marino combo amp: a 10-watt all-tube amplifier that recalls the tweed-filled glory days and is modeled after the overlooked classic which was the Harvard 5F10. The Merino is designed to stay as clean as it can get, and when you finally hit that overdriven sweet spot, it has more gain on tap than any other tweed style combo!
The Merino has two 6V6GT power tubes with two ECC83 pre-amp tubes, a 5Y3 rectifier tube with a USA-made Heyboer transformer, and 8 ohm impedance. It’s available with a variety of different tolex, tweed, grill cloth, and speaker options. Pricing starts at $1650.
The Music Zoo will also soon be receiving a variety of 1×12 and 2×12 cabinets as well as Pearl and Soulstice heads.
