New 2013 Fender Acoustic Guitars
NAMM 2013 Not to be outdone by their electric counterparts, Fender Acoustic has really brought out the big guns with some very cool and unique models introduced for 2013. First off we have the awesome Reso-Tele, which is exactly what it sounds like – a resonator Telecaster! The guitar is built with a laminated maple body with a “C” shaped maple neck, Continental Eastern European hand spun cone, nickel-plated bell brass tailpiece, a standard Telecaster neck pickup and piezo bridge pickup with a Fishman powerchip. The controls are two volume knobs, allowing you to blend and combine electric and acoustic tones however you’d like.
Next up in the line is the Mando-Strat, again – it’s a mandolin mixed with a Strat! The mandolin has an alder body, “C” shaped maple neck with a 13.78″ scale length, 1.18″ nut width, and a Fender-designed pickup for providing the electric mandolin tones, controlled by a master volume and tone controls. Imagine putting this through your pedal rig? We can’t wait to get this at the Zoo so we can experiment with it, too.
Pictured here is the Ron Emory “Loyalty” Parlor acoustic guitar. This cool little instrument was made in collaboration with the T.S.O.L. guitarist that has both punk-ethos with a very cool vintage-guitar vibe as well. There are two versions of the guitar; the first with a sunburst finish with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, the second with a butterscotch-stain finish with an all-ash body. Both guitars feature a 25.3″ scale length, soft “V” neck shape, and 12th fret “Loyalty” inlay.
Lastly we have a slew of new T-Bucket series guitars, and they run from affordable no-frills added dreadnaught acoustics up to higher priced instruments loaded with figured wood tops and on-board electronics. The last picture is of the new Vince Ray Voodoo-Bucket 300CE built with a laminated spruce top, laminated mahogany body, and some really cool artwork designed by the famous Hot Rod artist. For electronics the guitar also has a built-in chromatic tuner with On/Off Switch, Volume, Bass, Mid, and treble to easily control how your electric signal sounds.
