New At The Zoo! D’Angelico Teardrop Archtop From NAMM 2016
This beautiful one-of-one piece from D’Angelico caught our eye at NAMM 2016, so it was only a matter of time before it made it’s way through our doors and into our hands! Built by Victor Baker in his Astoria Queens workshop only a short drive away from The Music Zoo, the “Teardrop” design pays homage to a guitar originally built for Pete Girardi, a Queens musician who commissioned the luthier to build him an instrument that featured a “teardrop” shape in the body (inspired by his group, named “The Teardrops”). The Baker-built Teardrop features all top-notch premium woods such as European spruce and European flamed maple, beautiful dark pieces of ebony, and a single ThroBak pickup for a warm and well-defined Jazz tone.
