Out of the Case: A One-Owner 1962 Fender Jazz Bass!
A find that dreams are made of: a vintage Fender bass kept under the bed for decades!
A routine trip to the dentist for Tommy Colletti turned into finding an incredibly clean 1962 Fender Jazz bass that was kept under the bed for decades! It came up in conversation because a woman recognized his name - someone with the last name Colletti played in her wedding band. That was in fact Tommy's uncle. Small world, right!? The story goes on that a beloved family member of hers passed in the early 1970s, leaving behind his Jazz Bass which he purchased new in 1962. The bass has been kept for decades as a family heirloom in its original case until now. Everything is stock on the instrument and it only has the slightest bit of patina to the finish and some scuffing on the neck right around the 2nd fret. The neck date on this bass is October of 1962.
