We have always been fans of the Music Man Axis guitar. Ever since its introduction in the '90s, the Music Man Axis was put in the spotlight by rock stars on stages all around the world. Its compact and ergonomic body design with a fast-playing maple neck has left its impact on us. When it came time to design our own Zoo-Exclusive Axis, we had to look back to those bright original colors from the early '90s and create the Amethyst Axis with an outstanding piece of quilt maple for the top!

Key Features of the Music Man Axis Guitar
We can't base our love for the Axis off of its looks alone! Of course, the guitar has to feel and sound just as good. The neck on the Music Man is really the key component, as you heard Tommy describe it in the video above. The slightly narrower 1-5/8" nut width makes for really comfortable chording, and the roasting process of the flame maple removes excess moisture and makes it incredibly resilient throughout weather changes. Tonally, we think that it adds a bit more snap and brightness to the response that you usually get from maple, which is already quite immediate in its attack. The pickups are a set of DiMarzio humbuckers custom-wound for the Axis, and the hardware is a non-recessed Music Man Floyd Rose tremolo with a locking nut!
