1957 Stratocaster Masterbuilt Jason Smith Music Zoo Hacksaw Relic Item Description
This is our latest and greatest Music Zoo Exclusive "Hacksaw Relic". A 1957 Stratocaster Masterbuilt by Jason Smith with a black finish that's beat to hell and back with a very wild look to it.
What's a Hacksaw Relic? We've all seen those funky pawn shop finds. Vintage guitars that have been modded to hell and back, with different pickups, changed wiring, a new set of tuners. Every once in a while, there's a diamond in the rough that's a fantastic player. We wanted to see what would happen if we took that concept to the Fender Custom Shop, and they've knocked it out of the park.
This '57 features a HS pickup configuration with black gaffers tape over the middle pickup simulating a guitar that's been DIY'd over and over again. There's a handwound El Diablo pickup in the neck with an EVH Wolfgang in the bridge. Nice touches by Jason are the 3-way toggle plugged into where the blade switch would be, along with a washer holding some of the pickguard in place and a badass skull inlaid into the clear knob. This guitar is just too cool, and it plays like butter. Jason made our dreams come true with this one!
